The Rockstead HIGO II X-FCF-ZDP (Camo Copper) is a high-end Japanese folding knife built around Rockstead’s HIGO II format: a ZDP189 blade clad in VG10, a titanium frame, and Camo Copper carbon composite handle scales. With a full length of 216 mm, an 89 mm blade, a 3.2 mm blade thickness, and a weight of 138 g, the HIGO II X-FCF-ZDP has the proportions of a serious folding knife while keeping the controlled, refined character expected from Rockstead. Rather than visual aggression, its strength comes from the relationship between high-hardness steel, convex geometry, mirror polishing, titanium construction, and advanced composite handle material. The blade is made from ZDP189 clad by VG10 and hardened to approximately HRc67. As a result, this construction gives the knife the cutting character associated with Rockstead ZDP189 models: very high sharpness, refined slicing, and long edge retention. The blade uses Rockstead’s Honzukuri convex geometry. Instead of a conventional secondary bevel, the cutting surface is formed as a continuous convex structure that supports the edge and helps the blade move through material with reduced resistance. In this system, the mirror-polished convex section is not only a visual signature; it is part of Rockstead’s cutting system.
  On the HIGO II X-FCF-ZDP, the mirror-polished Honzukuri surface is set against a quieter matte blade plane. Together, these surfaces reflect a distinctly Japanese understanding of light and shadow. The matte surface absorbs light and gives the blade depth, while the mirror-polished convex surface catches light with extreme clarity. If the entire blade were mirror-polished, it could become visually flat and chrome-like. If it were entirely matte, the convex geometry would lose much of its optical expression. By combining the matte plane and mirror-polished Honzukuri surface, Rockstead creates a more precise visual structure: a quiet background and a reflective cutting surface separated by a controlled line. The mirror finish also reveals the accuracy of the geometry. Because a convex surface normally distorts reflection, any waviness, micro-facet, uneven polishing, or softened transition would immediately break the reflected image. On Rockstead’s Honzukuri surface, the reflection remains clean because the convex radius is continuous and controlled down toward the cutting edge.
  The handle is built on a titanium frame and fitted with Camo Copper composite scales. This material combines carbon fiber with copper  layers, creating depth inside the handle rather than a flat surface effect. The pattern changes depending on angle and light, giving the knife a technical, almost mineral character. The Camo Copper handle does not make the knife decorative in a superficial sense. Instead, it adds a modern composite material to Rockstead’s established HIGO II architecture. The dark carbon structure and copper movement work as a counterpoint to the blade: warm, layered, and irregular on the handle; cold, controlled, and optically precise on the mirror-polished Honzukuri surface.
Mechanically, the knife remains true to the HIGO II concept: clean construction, direct folding-knife architecture, and a strong focus on the blade. Even so, the handle material adds visual presence, and the knife remains defined by Rockstead’s core system of steel, heat treatment, convex geometry, polishing, and final edge refinement.
  Each Rockstead knife is supplied with an individual passport showing its serial number and actual measured blade hardness, confirming that the hardness value is recorded for the specific knife rather than stated only as a general model specification.
